Draymond Green, The Warriors' star, Reacted to Russell Westbrook's Comeback

blogkoopedia - Two weeks after his most embarrassing performance as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook defied Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors by scoring a game-winning triple.

On the game between the Clippers and Warriors on March 2nd, Russell Westbrook had just 8 points, 6 assists, 4 turnovers, and 0 rebounds on 3/12 shooting from the field and 0/5 from 3 points. Draymond Green and the Warriors exhibited disrespectful, if not borderline criminal, behavior towards Westbrook; they sagged off of him and interfered with his shooting.

After the contest, Westbrook acknowledged that he needed to adapt to the new defense on this different team.

Just aggressively play," said Russell Westbrook after the Clippers lost that game. Look for ways to be productive. I thought I did a good job of it in the first half. The second half was marred by a lack of shots. I had the opportunity to swing, participate in plays, and fulfill any other role necessary, but I failed to take some shots that were necessary as well, this is not acceptable. On Wednesday's victory over the Warriors at home, the Clippers guard had his best performance of the year. Russell Westbrook scored 15 points, took 9 rebounds, gave 7 assists, and avoided turnovers.

Draymond Green didn't believe that anything truly different had occurred with respect to Westbrook's shooting outside of the ball.

"He attempted some shots that went missed," Green continued. I believed he performed well in not solely standing for long periods of time, but he made some shots that he missed last time.

Of Westbrook's nine rebounds, all of the offensive ones were responsible for four different baskets, and all of the four led to a basket for the Clippers. His offensive rebounds directly contributed to 9 of the 27 second-chance points with a percentage of 27% on the night.

After suffering a five-game losing streak under Russell Westbrook, the Clippers have now amassed a four-game winning streak. Wednesday's victory gave the Clippers full control of the Western Conference's 5th seed, but this is at least temporary.

Since entering the Clippers, Russell Westbrook has averaged 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.4 steals on 48.5% shooting in his nine appearances. Their following four contests will involve teams with losing records in the Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, and a pair of games against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
